Configuring Materials

Material Category Accounts

Brew Ninja material categories can be linked to QuickBooks Online asset accounts. These accounts will increase in value when you record purchase orders for raw materials in Brew Ninja, and decrease in value when you use raw materials through production processes in Brew Ninja. The value of these accounts can also be adjusted through inventory counts

Each Brew Ninja material category must be linked to an asset account. Depending on the level of detail you require for accounting purposes, multiple Brew Ninja categories can be linked to a single asset account, or the categories can be linked to a variety of asset accounts.

  1. Select the appropriate asset account from the dropdown box to the right of each material category.
  2. Click the green Save button in the top left corner of the grid.

Production

There are two other accounts which must be specified for your raw materials:

Work in Progress: Work in Progress product is product in your tanks.

Each time you add a batch of beer to a tank, a journal entry will be created reducing the value of the asset accounts for the materials used, and increasing the value of your work in progress asset account.

Each time you package product, a journal entry will be created reducing the value of the work in progress asset account, and increasing the value of your finished goods asset account

Select the appropriate asset account for your work in progress product.

Tank Discards: If product needs to be dumped from a tank during production, it will be transferred to a discard tank and recorded as an expense in QuickBooks Online.

Select the appropriate expense account for discarded product.

These changes cannot be saved until all fields of your QuickBooks Online configuration have been filled out. Continue through the configuration in the Product SKUs tab.
