Product SKU Details

Description of fields used for your Product SKUs

Prerequisites

  • To view product SKUs, you require the Setup Access → Product SKUs → Access role.
  • To edit product SKUs, you require the Setup Access → Product SKUs → Modify role.

Getting there

  • Navigate to the Setup → Product SKUs page.
  • Click on the edit icon (a blue pencil) in the same row as the product SKU whose details you wish to view or adjust.

Details

This table provides a high-level overview of your product SKU.

Item Name The name of the product.
Item Variation Name The (optional) variation name of the product.  You can create a product SKU group by assigning the same Item Name to each product SKU and assigning different Item Variation Names.
Internal Product Code The product code used internally.
Barcode for Point of Sale The product code used for point of sale.
Licensed Product Code The product code provided to you by a regulatory body.
Distributor Product Code The product code provided to you by the distributor.
Category The product SKU's category.  Used for applying taxes and levies.
Family The product SKU's family. Used for reporting.
Type The product SKU's type.
Image A logo or image for the product.

Material

This tab only appears for product SKUs with a type of Direct Sale or Guest Keg.

This tab allows you to specify the material being resold to your customers.

Material The material being sold to your customers as a product

Contents

This tab appears as described below for product SKUs with a type of PackagedPourable, Poured or Guest Keg.

This tab allows you to describe the content of your product.

Content The recipe contained within the product.
# Containers The number of containers associated with the product
Container Vol. The volume of an individual container
Units The unit of measurement for an individual container
Quantity in a Flat The quantity of product contained within a single flat

 

Alternatively, this tab appears as described below for product SKUs with a type of Composite or Combo.

This tab allows you to specify the products contained within your composite or combo product.

Click Add to enter a new sub-SKU.

Quantity The quantity of the sub-SKU used within the product
Sub-SKU The sub-SKU used within the product

Packaging

This tab only appears for product SKUs with a type of Packaged, Composite, Pourable, Poured, or Combo.

This tab allows you to describe the packaging for your product.

For product SKUs with a type of Packaged, Composite or Combo there will be a drop down menu at the top of this tab. This will be allow you to select the container used in your packaging. Please select the appropriate container, as well as the quantity used for this particular product SKU.

To enter any other required packaging materials, click Add, and then select the appropriate material(s) from the drop down menu.

Quantity The quantity of the material used within the packaging process
Material The material used within the packaging process

Pricing

This tab allows you to set the various fields associated with the pricing of your product.

Wholesale Price The price of the product to wholesalers
Retail Price The price of the product to retailers
Government Price The price of the product to government agencies
Levies

Note: The number and names of levy fields will depend on your configured levies
The amount collected for the associated levy for this product
Min Taxable Price The minimum price that will be utilized for tax calculations

Square POS

This tab is only shown when you have a Square connection configured within Brew Ninja.

This tab allows modification of fields that affect how your product SKU appears and functions when selling your product SKUs using Square's point-of-sale system.

Linked to Square? Indicates if the product SKU is linked to an item in your Square catalog.

Item Display Name

The (optional) custom name of the catalog item as it will appear in Square.  You only have to fill in this field if you want it to be different from the product SKU's Item Name field under the Details tab.
Item Variation Display Name The (optional) custom name of the catalog item variation as it will appear in Square.  You only have to fill in this field if you want the variation name to be different from the product SKU's Item Variation Name field under the Details tab.
Item Variation Position

Ordinarily, variations of a single catalog item will be sorted alphabetically.  Use this field to define a custom order.

For example, a clothing item could define 1 for a "XS" variation, 2 for a "S" variation, 3 for a "M" variation, 4 for a "L" variation.  The catalog item variations will be ordered "XS", "S", "M", "L".

Primary Category The product SKU's primary point of sale category.
Secondary Category The product SKU's secondary point of sale category.
Exclude from POS Indicates if the product should be excluded from Square.

Misc

This tab contains fields that are not relevant to the other tabs.

Min. on Hand The minimum quantity of the product you wish to have on hand at all times
Active

Indicates if the product is considered active.

Inactive products will not be synced to QuickBooks and will not be available for selection during packaging or sales.

Notes Any additional notes required for the product
Counting Instructions Special instructions for counting this SKU during manual inventory counts
