Getting There
Overview
A classification for products your brewery sells (Setup→Product SKUs).
Benefits
Properly categorizing your Product SKUs provides the following:
- Makes your product SKUs easier to search.
- Finer-grained inventory counts and snapshots: you can perform an inventory-count or snapshot for one or more specific categories of products.
- Reporting: some reports allow you to filter based on the category of product.
- Set a default tax for when selling products in that category. When creating a sales document, the tax code for the item will default to the tax assigned to its category.
- If Brew Ninja is connected to your accounting system, you can link a product category to a specific asset general ledger (GL). e.g., This allows you to use a different GL for Beer than for Merchandise.
- Classify the products you sell as Liquor for reporting purposes.
